What does the lifeguard training consist of?

In full, the lifeguard class is three days in length. We have simplified the process for our lifeguards by having the first day be completed at your convenience on your computer at home.The last two days will be in person at one of the pools we service. During those two days you will learn CPR, First Aid, Blood Borne Pathogen, and water safety skills.

 

Once I am certified, where will I work?

Once you are certified as a lifeguard, we will find a pool we service near your residence. We have locations all around the Greater Houston area, so we will be able to find one of our locations near you.

 

How many hours can I work?

You may be able to put in a full work week. Whether you have a busy schedule or you want to work as much as you can, lifeguarding is the right job for you.

Where do I buy my uniform?

To purchase your uniform go to ghpm.shop and browse through all of our latest lifeguard apparel. 

How old do I have to be to become a lifeguard?

To become a lifeguard you must be at least fifteen years old. 

Is there an opportunity for my pay to increase?

Yes, an advantage to becoming a lifeguard this summer is the opportunity for a pay increase. As you become more familiar with this job, you can have the opportunity to become a head lifeguard, assistant manager or manager of a pool. In addition, we have had many young adults work their way up to become supervisors, which receives excellent pay. With all of these opportunities you will be able to make more money.

What consists of a full lifeguard uniform?

We have simplified the process, once you are on our online store, ghpm.shop, purchase the product labeled “Mens Full Uniform” or “Womens Full Uniform” to make certain that you are purchasing everything.

When is the lifeguard training?

We hold lifeguard training from the beginning of January of every year to the beginning of July. The training locations will vary, however, you will be notified of specific times and locations when you sign up to become a lifeguard.
